Hillier Leads NZ Through The Field

Hillier Leads New Zealand into Contention at Junior World Cup

Daniel Hillier has sparked his New Zealand Junior World Cup side into contention with a clinical round of seven-under (64) to now be in second place in the individual standings.

This incredible second round has helped his team into third place overall to now be just four shots behind the United States.

Hillier’s lowest round of the day included seven birdies and zero bogeys with the most impressive run being the home stretch where he converted three birdies in a row to close out his round.

“The boys are fizzing after rocketing up the leaderboard today and I’m obviously pretty stoked with the 64,” said Hillier.

“We can’t wait to get stuck into it again and hopefully continue the form and work well as a team.”

He was helped along the way by teammate Tom Parker who sadly couldn’t finish in the same fashion with back-to-back bogeys proving costly at the end of his round after being three-under through 16 holes. Parker now sits in nineteenth place.

This was a huge moving day for the New Zealand Juniors who will take massive confidence leading into the third round.
